Witness to Crash Assists in DWI Arrest of Off-Duty Cop

A witness to a hit-and-run accident in Queens followed the driver and called police, leading to the DWI arrest of an off-duty police officer, the NYPD said Saturday.
Officer Aaron Sanchez was arrested at 11:30 p.m. Friday after his car collided with a vehicle at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and 50th Street, authorities said.
Sanchez allegedly drove away from the accident scene, but was followed by a witness who contacted police.
Sanchez, who was driving his own car at the time, was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident, police said.

No one was injured in the accident.
