“It’s becoming a disturbingly familiar scene in America - mentally unstable cops”

As remarkable as this…

Fairfax County Board Chairman Jeff McKay has actually stood up against the Fairfax County Police by pausing the installation of new stationary Flock automated license plate recognition (ALPR) cameras.

McKay cited increasing privacy concerns shared in “hundreds of emails” by Fairfax residents.

“Public safety and public trust go hand in hand, and as such, Fairfax County must join this broader conversation as well,” McKay said on Monday.

While according to McKay the 84 licensed stationary Flock ALPRs in Fairfax County’s program were used in a transparent manner and subject to a number of guardrails, he acknowledged the privacy concerns with regard to data collection and moved that the Board of Supervisors direct FCPD to pause the installation of any new stationary Flock ALPRs,

McKay also asked for more information from private users like homeowners’ associations and commercial property owners to get a fuller picture on how the technology is used by private citizens and businesses.

In the end, the cops will funnel campaign contributions around under employees names and they’ll get their camera….think I’m wrong?

Watch and see.
