FREMONT — A former Bellevue
police officer was sentenced to 10 years in prison for having sex with a girl
who was 17 at the time.
Bradley McMahon, 43, of Bellevue, was arrested in October
on sexual battery charges. Detectives from the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office
handled the investigation.
The girl’s teachers discovered the girl had sexual contact
with McMahon, who was 42 at the time. They informed children services of their
findings, records show. Children services referred the case to the sheriff's
office and deputies opened an investigation.
Detective Zachary Zender said McMahon admitted to having
sex with the girl on three separate occasions.
McMahon also will be subject to a mandatory period of
five years post release control.
He was
sentenced in Sandusky County Common Pleas Court, with Judge John Dewey
presiding.
