A former Chicago police officer
convicted of perjury was sentenced today to 4 ½ months in the Cook County Jail.
Sylshina London, 39, was also
placed on 30 months of probation, including her time in the jail, said
Assistant State’s Atty. Virginia Bigane.
London was convicted of lying
under oath about a confrontation she had with a motorist after trying to drive
around a funeral procession on her way to work.
Shemust report to the jail
Thursday, Bigane said.
The former officer spoke
briefly as she left the Leighton Criminal Court Building.
“It’s just an injustice,”
London said. “I mean it’s unfortunate.”
