Police officers across the nation have increasingly become the front line in dealing with people in the midst of mental health crises. And when officers aren’t ready to deal with someone in a psychotic episode, bad things can happen.In Fairfax County, police have resumed Crisis Intervention training, to have officers ready to respond to someone threatening others or themselves. The Post’s Henri Cauvin has a terrific inside look at how Fairfax is dealing with this, and how one officer in particular recently saved a life.
