The idiots-in-action report
Word has leaked out that the King County Prosecutor’s Office will not prosecute the Seattle Washington police officer who fatally shot a Native American woodcarver in an incident partially caught on dashcam video. While police officials say the officer may face disciplinary action over the shooting incident which was ruled as being unjustified by a review board, experts speculate that prosecutors didn’t want to upset the powerful police union by charging the officer and that a inquest jury’s split decision in review of the case made a successful prosecution unlikely, especially in light of past failures by the local prosecutors office to gain convictions against police officers in other high-profile cases.

A Seattle WA undercover police officer who was caught on surveillance video kicking a teen who had his arms up in the groin then kicking him in the ribs and head after he fell is now being sued over the incident. The officer claims the teen was involved in a drug bust gone bad where two officers were robbed but, despite conflicting news reports, his lawyer claims the kid only has one non-violent misdemeanor charge on his record and that the video proves he wasn’t involved in the robbery. Oddly, while the video of the kicking incident has drawn a lot of coverage, video showing the same officer punch a man for videotaping him right after the incident has been largely ignored.
La Junta CO has settled a lawsuit for an undisclosed sum to man who claimed that police lied when they claimed he threatened a passenger on a train in order to cover up his false arrest on terrorism allegations.

A Palm Bay FL police officer is accused of ordering a woman to expose her breasts while he was responding to a domestic disturbance call. However, during a hearing over the woman’s restraining order request another woman also claimed that the officer tried to coax her into showing him her breasts during a traffic stop as well.
