A Georgetown TX Idiot Cop is on paid leave while under investigation over an unspecified excessive force complaint.


3rd Degree Murder
Federal Way WA police were found negligent by a jury who awarded $1,100,000 to the family of a woman who was stabbed to death after police improperly served a protection order and failed to properly enforce it.


A Pittsburgh PA Idiot Cop is facing several charges including vehicular homicide, manslaughter, and DUI over an off-duty motorcycle accident that left his female passenger dead back in September.

A Pharr TX Idiot Cop has pled guilty to organized crime charges for helping to smuggle guns and drugs while on a drug cartel’s payroll.

Kansas City MO police are accused of using excessive force by a man who was shown on dashcam video, shown above, being thrown to the ground as he was getting out of his car as ordered by the officer who threw him during a traffic stop. Police are claiming the use of force was justified because the man allegedly “tensed up” while getting out.


Three Richmond KY idiot cops were the subject of a lawsuit that was settled for an undisclosed sum to a criminal justice instructor who claimed they used excessive force when they repeatedly tasered, beat, and peppersprayed him while he was being arrested on charges that were later dismissed with prejudice.


Webster Groves MO police are being sued by a woman claiming officers used excessive force on her when they barged into her home and wouldn’t let her change out of her robe when they arrested her on suspicion of DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident, charges that were later dismissed. Seems she had her son stay at the accident site to answer any questions but police just cuffed him and forced him to let them into the woman’s home instead.



Murder


Brook Park OH has settled a lawsuit for an unspecified sum to the family of a man who died in custody after they claim he was denied medical care when he complained of being sick.




Cops give idiots a bad name


Baltimore MD police hid the details of a $200,000 lawsuit settlement made to a man who was wrongfully arrested and jailed on molestation charges due to a warrant filled out with only his last name and first initial, a name which was similar to the real suspect. He was a Russian immigrant who fled that country due to religious persecution and he likened his nightmarish experience with American law enforcement with how he felt when he was interrogated by the KGB for making jokes about Russia.


A Fargo ND idiot cop is under investigation for possible disciplinary action after she left her service firearm in a sporting goods store restroom while off-duty.


A Pinellas County AZ deputy has been disciplined with a reprimand for calling another idiot cop and yelling at him for pulling over her domestic partner and giving her a ticket even though she tried to get out of it by claiming she was involved with a fellow law enforcement officer.

Syracuse NY police are being sued by the mother of a 15-year-old student she claims was tasered then handcuffed in front of his fellow students when he tried to stop a fight between two girls by standing between them. The suit claims that officers did this despite the protests of several students who told officers he was only trying to stop the fight but police insist the tasering was justified, even though one portion of the article suggests the officer hit the boy while aiming for one of the girls.

Two Daytona Beach FL idiot cops have been fired after a judge acquitted them of criminal mischief charges when they were accused of damaging a woman’s home by denting the exterior walls and door when they came back while she wasn’t home after searching her home earlier for a suspect.

An Anne Arundel County MD police lieutenant has been sentenced to 5 years in prison on child porn charges for possessing explicit pics of a teen girl that he had sex with after developing a relationship with her that started when she was 14-years-old.


A Terrebonne Parish LA sheriff’s lieutenant has been demoted for tasering his 11 and 15-year-old stepsons to show them what it felt like when they had asked him about it.



Civil Rights violation


A controversial San Bernardino CA police sergeant who was previously investigated on allegations that he would holding people “on ice” by jailing them without charges and for questionable searches he conducted has now been charged with misusing police databases and illegally sharing that information with others.


The Kenova WV police department has been ordered by a judge to pay the $1,500 settlement that they agreed to last month in a wrongful arrest case. Apparently it seems as though the department cut the man they settled with a check but he was unable to cash it when he tried.


An Akron OH idiot cop has pled guilty to felony unauthorized use of police database for using police records to look up information on parents of children to determine whether they lived in a school district as a private investigator for that school district.

Fair City LA has hired a former St. Tammany Parish deputy to lead their DUI task force. The problem is that the officer was fired from the sheriff’s department earlier this year for lying about his role in an off-duty bar fight along with two other deputies who were involved.


A Maywood IL deputy police chief has been charged with obstruction and disorderly conduct on allegations that he hit a man he was friends with in the head with his pistol after that man tried to fend off his sexual advances while the two were driving around. The obstruction charge is on allegations that he then lied about the incident by claiming the man tried to carjack him.

A Parma OH police sergeant who wrote a book on police ethics has been charged with tampering and falsification for lying about having color blindness when he was hired and for conspiring with the doctor who gave him his pre-employment screening to hide it.


Another Maywood IL idiot cop who works in the gang unit has been charged with theft of government property and official misconduct after agents were approached by him, searched, then had their money taken by that officer during sting operations launched after several similar complaints were made against him.


A Conshohocken PA police sergeant has been arrested on theft charges on allegations that he was skimming money from the coins he collected from parking meters.


A Ravalli County MT sheriff’s sergeant has been sentenced to 15 days in jail and a suspended sentence for stealing over 40,000 rounds of ammunition from the department and selling it. ....although we admire his chupatz

Aitken was sentenced to seven years in prison this past August because he had two unloaded firearms in the trunk of his car. "Police found unloaded guns that had been purchased legally in Colorado. New Jersey law requires residents who want to transport firearms legally to request a permit from a local law enforcement office and produce a letter stating why it is necessary for them to carry a gun." Aitken was switching residences and had yet to get the paperwork, ergo he deserved to lose seven years of his life. A Glendale Arizona cop has resigned and has been stripped of his police certification for 6 months over his role in a bar fight while he was away for training in Oregon, during which he allegedly tried to use his badge and FBI credentials he had due to his work as a police/FBI liason in the department to try and get out of being arrested and in an attempt to commandeer a car.


Ashland Illinois has settled a lawsuit accusing that town’s police chief & public works director of verbally abusing and mocking a severely disabled employee and even pantsing him at work.


A Phoenix Arizona police sergeant was fired for regularly using racial slurs on civilians and even his fellow officers who described him as a full-on racist, now that officer’s police certification has been revoked for one year as well. Meanwhile, another officer’s certification has been revoked for a year after she quit over an investigation into how she misused police databases to look up the criminal history of a country club manager where she worked an off-duty job and then told people there about what she found.


Three Broward County FL deputies have been arrested on felony charges. One officer was charged for having sex with a jail inmate and the two others were apparently involved in some sort of jail contraband scheme.


A Jacksonville FL sheriff’s officer has been arrested on a felony criminal mischief charge for vandalizing a fellow officer’s personal car in the police garage. Apparently the other officer married her ex-husband and there’s some rivalry because of it.


A Gary IN cop has been suspended for 2 years and fined by the police board in a rare move over allegations that he took another officer’s firearm and then lied about it.


Two Glendale California cops are being sued by a lawyer claiming that one of the officers was having an affair with his wife when he conspired with the other officer to have him arrested on false charges. The lawyer was eventually cleared of the charges after he was prosecuted

A Duxbury Massachusetts cop has been sentenced to probation and time served in a plea to assault and battery for threatening his girlfriend with his gun that was allegedly just one of several other alleged domestic violence incidents.


A Texas State trooper has been sentenced to probation on a misdemeanor assault conviction for slamming a woman’s face into a concrete retaining wall, as seen on the above dashcam footage, after she had called police for help when she was in an accident. The officer was arresting her on suspicion of DUI but no charges were filed.


Eastern Pike Regional cops in Pennsylvania are the subject of a lawsuit claiming they refused to call paramedics or even examine a man when his parents told officers that he had stopped breathing after the officers had allegedly beat then handcuffed him. He was dead when paramedics finally arrived.


Minneapolis MN settled a lawsuit for $80,000 to a cop claiming he was removed from the Metro Gang Task Force for reporting abuses by officers in that group which was later disbanded due to those abuses.


An Arcade GA cop is the subject of a lawsuit alleging he issued false citations to a motorist for questioning the officer’s reason for pulling him over. Apparently, Arcade has long been the subject of complaints and at least 2 investigations over allegations of being a speed trap.


A Marco Island FL cop with a history of being the subject of complaints has been fired for filing an inaccurate report about an incident involving an excessive force complaint


A Chicago IL cop is the subject of a lawsuit alleging he beat and kicked a man and his friend then falsely arrested him while he was working an off-duty security guard job at McDonalds, all over allegations that the man dropped condiments.


A Derby CT cop is being sued by that city’s Parking Authority director alleging the officer, who is also the Parking Authority chairman, assaulted him in a hallway after a meeting where the two had a dispute.


MURDER
Six New Orleans Louisiana cops, many of them high-ranking officers, have been reassigned while under investigation over testimony that was heard during the Henry Glover trial which resulted in 3 officers being convicted and several others admitting that they lied during a federal investigation into that incident where an unarmed man was shot in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina then his body was burned in a car to cover up what happened.


A Bay Area Rapid Transit cop in California that was fired for lying about her partner’s, Tony Pirone, actions in the shooting death of Oscar Grant on New Years 2009 was rehired by order of an arbitrator who overruled that department’s decision on recommendations by an outside review of the incident. Pirone, who used a racial epithet when he punched Grant and who’s aggressive behavior has been blamed for unnecessarily escalating the situation before Grant was shot, is also in the process of appealing his firing to an arbitrator… and as our studies indicated previously, it’s rare for an arbitrator not to rule in favor of the appealing officer.

A Bensalem PA police sergeant who was the head of the Special Victim’s Unit has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a female EMT that he worked with inside the facilities they worked together while both were off-duty.


A Broward County FL deputy has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping a handcuffed detainee while she was being transported between jails. He apparently rejected a plea deal that would have resulted in a 5-year sentence and still insists he didn’t do anything despite there being DNA evidence suggesting otherwise.


A Fulton County GA deputy has been charged with misdemeanor sexual battery over alleged but unspecified “inappropriate touching” involving a woman that he allegedly knew.


A Lebanon IN cop has been arrested on allegations that he was groping women at a bar in front of his wife and then pulled a gun and pointed it into the chest of a man who confronted him over his behavior. Apparently, an off-duty officer was there and witnessed the whole thing as well, confirming the allegations.

An Indianapolis Indiana civilian complaint board has ruled that an officer used excessive force on a 15-year-old child in an incident that even the chief of police called the worst case of brutality he had seen. However, even though an internal investigation and the review board both found the incident a case of excessive force, a police review board did not so the officer won’t face any disciplinary action. The boy suffered a broken nose, chipped teeth, and severe facial bruising/swelling.


A Seguin Texas cop is pleading guilty to an evidence tampering charge in a deal dismissing solicitation of a minor charges.

A Hickory North Carolina cop has been placed on desk duty after being arrested on a drunk driving charges for running over a mailbox and hitting a tree while off-duty.


A Frankfort KY cop has resigned after being arrested on a drunk driving charge when he was stopped by police who reported that he was swerving and had almost hit another motorist.


A Durham NC cop has been arrested on a drunk driving charge and this is actually his second DUI arrest since November 2009. Oddly, the reports first indicated that the person was still employed as an officer but now police are saying he’s a former officer, though they won’t say when he stopped being an officer and why.

COPS & ANIMALS: A STRANGE, STRANGE RELATIONSHIP

A Cottonwood Arizona cop is facing disciplinary action after his K9 partner had to be euthanize due to heat distress when the dog was left in the officer’s cruiser while he did paperwork. The cruiser was equipped with a device that monitors the internal temperature of the car and sounds alarms if it gets too hot but the device wasn’t switched on.

This is for your FYI. I know that you are used to being dealt with felt tipped gloves but let me give it to you directly.....police oversight is an exercise in fertility. Why I could have answred that question blindfolded. In fact, I am blindfolded....why? Because I tied this knot an hour ago and now I can’t get it to untie because I’m dyslexic and stupid. Its not easy being me.


Anyway, your recent eddietorial on police oversigh put me between a rock and a hotplate but I am against police oversight because it puts to many hands in the fire. And while that might sound like fun, it isn’t. Trust me I know.

All that police oversight does is to throw a monkey at the wrench because letting cevi...c-vil...cvilyans....people who are not police into the police department is like the blind talking to the blind, of course alot depends whether you are drinking from the side of the glass that is half-full or half-empty.


Do I think we need police oversight? No and do you know why knot? Because unlike the sissys at the Post, I don't need a compass to tell me which way the wind shines, that’s why.


You people think you’re so smart, well hindsight is 50-50.

Yes, we have made mistakes but you are never going to fail unless you try and I know that we baked our cake, now we have to eat it. But that does not mean you should stir the apple cart.

Once again, the Washington Post is the only main line news organization in the area asking the right questions about the police.



We have to disagree with the Post on several points.


Police oversight won’t change a damn thing in Fairfax County. In fact, police oversight, nationally, is a failure and the facts are there to prove it, check it out. The police politicize the boards and within a few years, the oversight commissions are useless.


No, oversight will not fix the national police problem. And that’s what we have, a national police problem. The cops, who have more power than ever before, still live in 1955 and they ain’t changing. ...and here’s the scary part...there ain’t a damn thing you can do about it and they know.


We have a national police problem in America created by thousands of police departments that employee tens of thousands of people of varying degrees of professionalism.


Policing has grown into a multibillion-dollar business that we have no control over and we pay for it. Local governments pay at least one billion dollars a year to settle lawsuits created by blatant, avoidable, acts of stupidity and cruelty by the police. As a result, teachers are laid off, schools suffer, roads go unrepaired, parks are filthy, the uninsured go untreated and homeless and poor go without and the quality of life and the promise of America takes another step backwards.


It doesn’t matter if one of these things happens or if all of them happen, the point is it shouldn’t happen at all. But it does happen, again and again and again and all because some punk with attitude was hired by the local police.


We have no mechanisms in place to check the booming police industry and that’s just foolish because once people and institutions get power, they never give it back. Stop and think about it, do you really think Rohrer has forgotten to look into establishing a review panel?


Our elected officials, fearful of being accused of being soft on crime, are generally too terrified to step in and the US Justice Department is geared to indulging the cops with funding and studies.


In the case of the Fairfax County Police, enjoying a long-standing reputation for professionalism and scandal-free dealings with the public, the Post, in all due respect, is wrong. Read the departments history. The department, which is essentially only fifty years old, has been involved in a series of questionable shootings. Fairfax County cops have caused a race riot once. They raided bars to find drunks and then busted up several saloons. They’ve beaten up children, knocked the teeth out of an elderly janitor’s mouth for no reason, robbed banks, committed incest, arson and murder. They have repeatedly lied in court. To call the racist is to be kind....the facts are all found in past editions of the Washington Post and not at all difficult to find.


Regardless, the Post does a hell of a good job in setting the record straight where the Fairfax County Police are concerned and the paper deserves recognition for that.


What Fairfax County needs is a new police chief who isn’t hired from within the department. The punk attitude that the Fairfax County Police are known for (not only by the citizens but also by other cops from around the area) comes from the top down. The force senses the disrespect and contempt that the brass has for the people and they mimic it.


Fire this guy who is running things...he’s a poopoo head..... and give the new chief a written directive to open the department up to the citizen’s questions about their practices.

FAIRFAX COUNTY POLICE enjoy a long-standing reputation for professionalism and scandal-free dealings with the public they are sworn to protect. However, the department's recent track record for accountability in a few cases involving shootings by police officers suggests there is room for improvement.


In one such case, the county police have remained tight-lipped about the fatal shooting 13 months ago of David Masters, a carpenter and former Army Green Beret with bipolar disease. The police have been conducting an internal investigation into the shooting for a year, and they have yet to release findings. The officer who shot Mr. Masters has remained on the force at full pay, though he is limited to administrative duties.


The department has not adequately explained why the investigation has taken so long. The incident involved just a handful of officers, one of whom fired the shots that killed Mr. Masters as he sat alone and unarmed in his vehicle. Police officials, when asked when they might reach some sort of conclusion, have reacted with what amounts to a shrug. Some of Mr. Masters's loved ones are furious.


A group calling itself the Virginia Citizens Coalition for Police Accountability, founded by a retired District police detective who lives in Fairfax, has urged the county to establish a citizens board empowered to review questionable incidents involving the police - particularly in cases of lethal force used by officers. The proposal has support from members of the county Board of Supervisors, which asked Fairfax Police Chief David M. Rohrer to look into establishing a review panel.


The next step is unclear, as is the county's approach. Fairfax police have made no effort to contact the national association that serves as a clearinghouse for information about how citizen review boards work. Nor have they contacted the Office of Police Complaints in the District, a 10-year-old body with considerable expertise and resources.


Dozens of police departments nationally, including plenty that are smaller than Fairfax's, have such oversight mechanisms. The most effective ones function independently of the police chain of command and have investigative muscle - even, in the case of the District's office, the power to issue subpoenas.


Judging from the less-than-forthright behavior of the Fairfax police in the Masters case, there is every reason to think that creating an external review body would be helpful, both as a means to shake loose information in response to reasonable allegations of police error, misconduct and abuse, and to encourage accountability.
