Man replaced victim's watch with cheaper one

A Detroit sergeant has been suspended after
he took an expensive watch from a murder victim and replaced it with a less
expensive version.
According to Police Chief James Craig, Sgt.
Alex Vinson was in charge of a case earlier this year involving a murder
victim, who's body was found wearing an expensive German-made watch.
Craig said police took a picture of the watch
and stored it in a property room for homicide victims.
Detectives wanted to take a closer look at
the watch this week after the case had gone cold, but when they took out the
victim's items, the watch had been replaced with a cheaper model, according to
Craig.
"We were made aware of this a few nights
ago and immediately initiated an internal investigation," Craig said.
"We directed (Vinson) to return home."
Craig said the FBI found Vinson with the
watch, which he was wearing during a training session.
