Another cop accused of rape....where are the women leaders on this? Why are they silent?
40/29 Investigates: Reports show Fayetteville
officer suspended 3 times
Disciplinary files from Dominic Swanfeld
obtained
By Emily Maher, Reporter
FAYETTEVILLE —40/29 News has obtained one of
three documents from the disciplinary file of a Fayetteville police officer.
Internal police investigation documents
indicate Fayetteville Police Sgt. Dominic Swanfeld has not been reassigned
after an intern said he sexually assaulted her and damaged his team’s morale.
Fayetteville police confirmed an officer has
been suspended after violating several professional standards polices with the
department, including allegations of sexual harassment at an FOP function.
This comes after Attorney General Dustin
McDaniel issued an opinion advising the City to do so.
Sgt. Dominic Swanfeld was suspended last
month after being accused of sexually harassing a police department intern.
The report from the Fayetteville Police
Department said Swanfeld had been suspended back in 2001 after complaining and
swearing about a job he was assigned to do.
This is the third suspension 40/29 News has
learned about.
In 1998, Swanfeld was suspended for the first
time after using his police badge to keep from getting in trouble at a
nightclub while he was off-duty.
“Obviously, we’re not trying to hid
anything,” said Chief Greg Tabor after being asked to look at the other
documents in Swanfeld’s disciplinary file.
This comes after Attorney General Dustin
McDaniel issued an opinion advising the City to do so.
