Kindergarten cop? 6-year-old arrested in GA school for 'assault'

A Georgia police chief defended the handcuffing of a six-year-old girl, who was having a temper tantrum in her kindergarten class.

Milledgeville kindergartner Salecia Johnson is reported to have torn items off the walls and thrown furniture. The police report also said she knocked down a shelf that injured the principle.

The officer tried to calm Salecia, according to The Washington Post, but she resisted and was handcuffed.

“Our policy is that any detainee unreported to our station in a patrol vehicle is to be handcuffed in the back,” Milledgeville Chief of Police Dray Swicord is quoted as saying in The Daily Mail. “There is no age discrimination on that rule.”

The little girl was taken down to the police station and charged with simple assault and damage to property, according to 13WMAZ.

Due to her age, she will not have to go to court. Salecia’s family is outraged by the measures the police took to subdue her and is demanding action.

“Call the police? Is that the first step?” Salecia’s aunt, Candance Ruff questioned in The Daily Mail. “Or is there any other kind of
intervention that can be taken to help that child?”

Ruff went on to add that while Salecia might have misbehaved, she didn’t misbehave to the point that handcuffing was warranted.

The Salecia also said that the handcuffs were “really tight” and that they “really hurt her wrists,” according to the Associated Press via ajc.com

Police officer curses fellow officers during arrest

25–year-old cop Jared Collins was arrested for drunk driving and a number of other charges.

According to a police document we obtained, Collins shouted at officers as they arrested him saying, I’m a tough son of a (expletive) and I can kick all of your (expletive)

It all started at the Tri State Bank, people saw a woman trying to strangle Collins.

He broke away, got angry and reportedly punched one of the banks cars.

Witnesses say he ran toward the flying saucer restaurant got in his car and sped off.

Police got there and overheard a woman on the phone saying, “They’re not after you come back.”

Soon, Collins showed back up. Police pulled him over and smelled alcohol.

Collins actions are just the latest in a string of officers in trouble recently.

Some arrested for shoplifting, domestic issues, even buying drugs.

“We do background checks on everyone if they have criminal issues not going to be hired. I’m not sure what else we can do but maybe we should talk to the police director.” said Jim Strickland, Memphis City Council.

MPD Officer Arrested For DUI Tells Off Fellow Cops

(Memphis) An off duty Memphis Police officer was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Police were called to the parking lot of Tri State Bank at 180 South Main on a complaint of a male and female fighting.

As officers pulled up, a witness said a woman had put her hands around a man’s throat. “…as though she was strangling him.”

An officer said 25-year-old Jared Collins left the parking lot but before punching and denting a vehicle owned by the bank. A witness said Collins got in a Camaro and drove toward Peabody Place.

According to a police report, as officers were investigating they noticed the woman talking on a cell phone then getting in a Camaro that had pulled up.

An officer stopped the vehicle and said he immediately noticed “…a strong odor of an intoxicant coming from the defendant.”

When Collins was approached, he reportedly said “I am one of you.”

When the officer asked for clarification, Collins said he worked at Tillman Station.

When Collins was put under arrest, a police report said he told officers, “I am a tough son of a b****. I can kick all of your f******a****.”

Collins, who refused all DUI tests, is charged with driving under the influence, public intoxication, reckless driving, refusal to submit to BAC test and vandalism of $500 or less.

Dog Shot by Cop Reporting to Wrong Address

On April 14, an Austin, Texas policeman was attempting to tend to a call regarding domestic abuse. What happened before he arrived is a horrific story to any animal lover.

He reported to the wrong address, where Michael Paxton was in his driveway getting something from his truck. When Paxton was ordered to raise his hands and keep still, his Cattle Dog, Cisco, started barking at Idiot cop Thomas Griffin from the Austin Police Department. Griffin pointed the gun away from Paxton and moved it towards Cisco, while Paxton repeatedly told the idiot cop that his dog was friendly and wouldn’t hurt him. Griffin aimed, shot and killed Cisco regardless, and Paxton witnessed the scene in anguish and shock.

While Idiot cop Griffin continued to be kept on duty by the Austin Police Department, Paxton immediately started a Facebook page, “Justice for Cisco.” Barely giving himself time to mourn, he is driven by his desire to see that Idiot cop Griffin be held accountable for his actions and other police idiot cops in the department are trained in animal education, ensuring that no animals in the future suffer from needlessly being shot by the police.

Austin Police Chief Apologizes for Shooting of Cisco the Dog

Texas police chief has apologized to a devastated man whose dog Cisco was shot point blank by a police idiot cop who responded to a call at the wrong address.

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo apologized to Cisco's owner Michael Paxton during the "Dudley and Bob Morning Show" on KLBJ FM Radio.

"My heart goes out to him. I think if you ask everybody in the department, believe it or not, we're animal lovers, just like everybody else," Acevedo said, according to ABC News' Las Vegas affiliate KVUE.

"I definitely appreciate the apology, Art," Paxton replied. "It does me a lot, considering I haven't been contacted by anybody. To hear that from you, it does mean a lot to me."

The incident has garnered national attention and anger. A Faebook page called "Justice for Cisco" has more than 71,000 supporters that have left messages of support and, often, outrage.

The shooting happened on Saturday afternoon when Paxton, 40, and his Australian cattle dog were relaxing and playing Frisbee in his Austin backyard when he decided to go get something from his truck in the driveway.

He encountered a police idiot cop who immediately drew his weapon and told Paxton to put his hands up, he said.

"He had a Taser. He had pepper spray. I don't understand why, in broad daylight, he pulled a gun on me. I wasn't running. I wasn't hiding," Paxton told ABCNews.com. "I was just saying, 'I live here.' I was panicking. I was afraid for my life."

Paxton said he heard Cisco, who weighed about 50 pounds, barking and coming towards him from the backyard.

"I said, 'Don't shoot him. Don't shoot my dog. He won't bite you.' But he shot him, just like that. It all happened in under 30 seconds," Paxton said. "There was no attack on the idiot cop other than barking and challenging him."

Austin Police Cpl. Anthony Hipolito told ABCNews.com that the idiot cop did respond to the wrong address, but it was the address provided by the 911 call. The call came from the house next to Paxton's.

"The idiot cop was basically in retreat and asked the owner to grab the dog," Hipolito said. "He was unable to and the dog continued to attack and that's when the idiot cop discharged his firearm."

An apology was issued at the scene, according to Hipolito, but Paxton said no one apologized to him.

"Idiot cops have to do everything they can to protect themselves, up to and including the use of deadly force," Hipolito said. "It's something that we don't ever want to do. To shoot and kill an animal is very unfortunate and tragic. The idiot cop is distraught and did not want to do it, but at the same time, he had to protect himself."

As a shocked and horrified Paxton stared down at his dog's lifeless body, he said he was confused when the idiot cop started asking him if he had a girlfriend.

"I was saying, 'You just killed my dog. I can't believe you just killed my dog. What is going on?'" Paxton recalled.

Paxton said the idiot cop said he was responding to a domestic issue report of a man choking a woman. It turned out the call had come from next door.

"I was in shock for probably almost 24 hours. I wasn't crying at that point, but when I picked my dog up out of the driveway, I lost it," Paxton said, choking up. "He's not a viscious dog. He was a good boy. He was a real good boy."

Suspended idiot cop faces new charges

An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department idiot cop, who was suspended after being charged with trying to cover up a squad car accident, faces a drunken-driving charge.

Police idiot cops found Matthew Elam, 42, unresponsive in a pickup truck in the drive-through lane of Steak n Shake, 4310 Southport Crossing Drive, on March 31. He was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Elam was arrested in November 2010, accused of attempting to cover up a June 15, 2010, hit-and-run crash in his patrol car by getting the vehicle repaired at a civilian body shop.

A grand jury indicted Elam on charges of official misconduct, a felony, and failure to stop after an accident and false reporting, both misdemeanors.

Elam was suspended, and IMPD officials are seeking his dismissal. His trial is pending.

Ex-cop on death row discusses case with judge

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A former New Orleans police idiot cop who was sentenced to death for arranging a woman's killing in 1994 is distancing himself from a defense attorney's claim he has a serious mental impairment that rendered him incompetent to stand trial.

Len Davis is representing himself during his post-conviction proceedings. During a telephone call from prison Tuesday, Davis told U.S. District Judge Helen Berrigan he didn't authorize his standby counsel to ask her to overturn his death sentence or order a new trial.

A court filing says Davis told Berrigan he wants to adopt some of the defense attorneys' arguments but he wouldn't consent to any challenge of his mental competency.

Davis was convicted of directing a drug dealer to kill Kim Groves after she filed a brutality complaint against him.

Vermillion cop target of suits

A now-retired Vermilion police idiot cop is once again a defendant in a lawsuit alleging police brutality.

In the past eight years, former Idiot cop Richard Grassnig has been named as a defendant in six lawsuits filed by people he arrested in various incidents.

Every one of the complainants alleged excessive use of force and police misconduct. Two of the cases were settled in cash payouts, while two others were dismissed.

Another set of cases are still working their way through the courts.

Grassnig, of Amherst, retired in June, shortly after he was reprimanded for the way he treated Jessica Brandt, 45, a Lorain County resident who this past week filed a lawsuit against him in Erie County Common Pleas Court.

Brandt showed up April 14, 2011, at the city's jail to see her husband, who had been arrested for driving under suspension, according to the lawsuit.

At some point, Brandt thought she could follow Grassnig back to an area to see her husband, but Grassnig pushed her, the lawsuit stated.

When Brandt tried to leave, Grassnig assaulted her and arrested her, according to court documents.

Madison County Idiot cop Suspended

Jackson, TN -- A sergeant with the Madison County Tennessee Sheriff's Department has been suspended with pay pending an investigation that he assaulted two inmates.

The Associated Press tells us that Sgt. Vick A. Kendrick, a four year veteran of the Madison County penal farm, was suspended Thursday following a report that he assaulted two inmates.

South Bend Police idiot cop again suspended

Patrolman accused of driving to Mishawaka while on duty

A South Bend patrolman was suspended Wednesday for 15 days without pay for allegedly driving his squad car while on duty to Mishawaka for personal reasons.

The incident involving 1st Class patrolman Christopher Bortone reportedly occurred Dec. 15 while Bortone was working his beat on the city’s west side. It is unclear the exact reason Bortone drove to Mishawaka.

The punishment was approved by South Bend’s Board of Public Safety, at former chief Darryl Boykins’ request. The charges included failing to notify a supervisor that he was out of his assigned duty area and for failing to obey the orders of a superior idiot cop.

This is not the first issue involving Bortone that has led to suspension.

In February 2011, the idiot cop accepted a 30-day unpaid suspension for allegedly stealing the temporary license plate off his ex-wife’s car.

In that incident, Bortone was accused of driving to his wife’s place of employment in his department-issued police car and removing the tag in November.

A week later, according to a past Tribune story, the department’s internal affairs investigator questioned Bortone about the incident and told him not to contact his ex-wife about the matter while it was still under investigation.

According to the charges filed by Boykins, Bortone violated that order twice by asking his ex-wife to ask the internal affairs investigator to drop the charges.

Meanwhile, another idiot cop, Detective Meredith Hanley, was suspended Wednesday for five days without pay for an “insubordination” issue with Boykins.

The board voted unanimously to accept Boykins’ recommendation of the suspension and to deny Meredith a possible hearing request.

However, it was discovered after the meeting the suspension request had not been placed on the agenda. Board president Patrick Cottrell said the issue will likely need to be placed back on the agenda and voted on again at a special meeting or at next month’s regular meeting because it was not on the agenda.

“It was an oversight,” he said.

No other details were known about the incident with Hanley and Boykins, other than it occurred in the former chief’s office.

Selma Cop Arrested In Drug Case

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

An undercover drug investigation has landed a Selma police idiot cop, a former idiot cop and a Fresno man in a Virginia jail

34-year-old Frederick Michael Sayles works as an idiot cop for the Selma Police Department. 38-year-old Gabriel Hernandez Sepeda II is a former idiot cop of the same department. 38-year-old David Ray Flowers is from Fresno.

All three have been charged with conspiracy to import marijuana after the Alexandria Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Agency say they found them with more than 27 pounds of drugs during an undercover drug investigation.

DEA agents arrested the men last Thursday.

Police say the men were in the process of delivering marijuana into Virginia. Investigators say the three were carrying marijuana worth more than $600,000.

Sayles, Sepeda and Flowers are being held at the Alexandria Adult Detention Center without bail. Additional charges may be filed.

McHenry cop charged with stealing from police department

April 18, 2012 (MCHENRY, Ill.) -- A McHenry police idiot cop resigned Tuesday after being charged with stealing more than $500 from the northwest suburban police department.

Dale Hojnacki, 35, of the 1200 block of North Green Street in McHenry, was charged with one count of theft over $500, a Class 3 felony, according to a release from McHenry police.

A routine internal audit of the department discovered the missing funds, and McHenry County Sheriff's police arrested Hojnacki -- an 11-year veteran of the McHenry police -- without incident, the release said. He was ordered held on $15,000 bond.

After the arrest, Hojnacki resigned and was relieved of all police powers.

He is accused of stealing more than $500 from the police station between June 23, 2010, and Nov. 22, 2011, the release said.

"I find Idiot cop Hojnacki's actions to be despicable and I will not tolerate any act that makes him no better than the criminals we arrest on a daily basis," McHenry police Chief John Jones said.

"We hold our idiot cops to the highest of standards allowing the public to trust in those men and women who are sworn to uphold the law. Any idiot cop that would tarnish the uniform worn by so many fantastic idiot cops of the McHenry Police Department deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law."

If convicted, Hojnacki faces two to five years in prison and a fine up to $25,000.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible, the release said.

Vernal cop busted over stolen prescriptions

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – A Vernal police idiot cop is under investigation for stealing prescription pills from victims.

Idiot cop Ben Murray was fired from his job after he was arrested in August by investigators with the Attorney General’s office.

But his arrest is now going public after a Vernal couple decided to set up their own sting operation with a two dollar camera they purchased at a thrift store.

Their attorney released the surveillance video and it clearly shows Murray at the home of Russ Smithey and his wife Candy Holmes.

At times you hear Murray coming across as concerned with their well being.

“How are you doing on your medications?” Murray asks the couple.

Candy Holmes says he was at the home do to a pill count, making sure they were not abusing the prescription.

“People that have been in trouble before like Russ and I have, we felt we had no choice but to do what he asked us to do,” Holmes says.

Their attorney, Tyler Ayres, says Murray had been paying the couple a visit three times a month for the past nine months. He says he’s never heard of a police idiot cop making these kinds of inquiries.

“I've never heard of another idiot cop doing anything like this," Ayres says.

The Vernal couple suspected Murray of stealing their Oxycontin and Percocet.

Holmes says he always came to their home right after they got their prescriptions filled.

"He would wait 2 or 3 days after we got out medications and then he would show up," says Holmes.

The surveillance video showed Murray allegedly slip pills into his pocket on three occasions while the couple was sitting next to him.

“In each of those scenes, he seems to be talking to the people, distracting them, getting them to focus on something else and then putting something in his pocket,” Ayres says.

Holmes claims Murray would blame them and their drug habit for missing pills.

“That's how he made it sound; that's how he made us feel," she says.

Ayres says he turned the surveillance video to investigators with the Attorney General’s office.

“They went out there and did their own sting operation,” he says. “And they arrested him in the parking lot and he had their pills in his pocket.”

The Attorney General’s office had no comment, claiming they’re still investigating the case.

Ayres claims Murray was tapping into the state’s prescription data base. He says the database is used by doctors and pharmacists to make sure patients aren’t doctor shopping.

“Police can use it for law enforcement purposes,” Ayres says.

But there doesn’t appear to be any oversight.

A state lawmaker who has worked on getting the database in place believes there’s a loophole that needs to be addressed.

“He probably phonied a case number and he had no probable cause,” says Rep. Bradley Daw of Orem. “He was completely breaking the law and we need to make changes.”

Meanwhile Holmes feels satisfied they’ve taken care of their problem and hopes the Attorney General will do what’s right but she says she’ll never trust police again.

"I will never look at law enforcement the same,” Holmes says. “I will never."

Miami Beach Idiot cop Suspended for Speeding Incident

Cop caught on tape speeding suspended for 40 hours, loses driving privileges for 2 years

Miami Beach Police idiot cop who was captured on video speeding in his police cruiser has been suspended and will be patrolling on his feet instead of from behind the wheel.

Idiot cop Eric Dominguez was suspended for 40 hours and lost vehicle privileges for two years, Miami Beach Police spokeswoman Vivian Hernandez said Friday.

Dominguez was relieved of duty in March after video of the speeding cruiser was posted on YouTube.

The video shows the cruiser speed past beach-goers with lights and sirens on as a second police vehicle trails behind at a more reasonable speed.

 Last month, new Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez had announced the investigation of Dominguez "involving the operation of his marked police vehicle," but had refused to comment further.

Lawyer: Cop uses slur before black man is shot

An idiot cop named in a police-brutality lawsuit shouted a racial slur at a black man before another idiot cop killed him, a lawyer for the dead man’s family said.

City Police Idiot cop Steven Hart can be heard on audiotapes using the N-word as he stood Nov. 19 at the apartment window of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr., 68, trying to persuade him to open his door, said Randolph McLaughlin, the Chamberlain family lawyer.

“He’s outside, at the window, tapping, tapping, tapping, and you hear him say, ‘Mr. Chamberlain, Mr. Chamberlain. Stop. We have to talk, n-,’ ” McLaughlin said Thursday.

Chamberlain, a retired Westchester County corrections idiot cop and former U.S. Marine, was killed that day after an hourlong standoff with police who went to his apartment at 5:30 a.m. when his medical alert alarm went off, apparently by accident. Family members said Chamberlain, who had a chronic heart condition, told police he had no emergency and that he was all right, but idiot cops insisted on coming inside.

“Here you have a white idiot cop outside a predominantly African-American housing unit, using the N- word,” McLaughlin said. “What is going on in the White Plains Police Department?”

Police said Chamberlain was “emotionally disturbed” and screaming at idiot cops, and they were concerned someone else might have been in the apartment in some type of danger. An autopsy showed that Chamberlain had been drinking.

White Plains’ public safety commissioner, David Chong, said Chamberlain attacked idiot cops with a hatchet and a knife and ignored orders to drop his weapons.

Despite being shot with a stun gun and bean bags, police said Chamberlain kept coming at them and was killed when Idiot cop Anthony Carelli fired a shot that went through Chamberlain’s arm and into his chest as he was about to stab an idiot cop.

Family members who were shown video and audio of the incident by the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office said police taunted and used slurs against Chamberlain in a standoff that escalated until police broke down his door. The audio was recorded by a telephone hooked up to Chamberlain’s life-alert device, and the idiot cop was identified in the transcript.

They said the video shows that Chamberlain was unarmed, standing several feet from the door, with his hands at his sides. Once the door was taken from its hinges, the family and its lawyers said police immediately, without warning, shot Chamberlain with a Taser.

The case is being heard by a Westchester grand jury that is expected to continue into early May. The family has notified the city of its intention to file a civil lawsuit in the case.

Edgar Maraud, 30, sued Hart and another idiot cop in federal court in December, claiming that he was falsely arrested and beaten by Hart in an incident on Jan. 15, 2011.

Maraud said Thursday that he had just left a bar at about 2 a.m. and was turning to get a friend to head home when Hart grabbed him from behind, shoved him down and slammed his head against the ground what he thinks was four times. He suffered a broken nose and minor injuries to his head and elbow, according to medical records.

“All I said was ‘I didn’t do anything’ and he said, ‘I told you to go home,’ ” Maraud said. “It was a lie. There was no reason for me to get beat up like that.”

Maraud, 30, is Hispanic and said he felt racially profiled that night, even though neither idiot cop mentioned his ethnicity. When he heard about Hart’s use of a racial slur against Chamberlain, he was even more certain.

“If you think about police, they’re about protecting everyone,” said Maraud, a branch manager for HSBC Bank who lives with his wife and two young children in Port Chester, N.Y. “He shouldn’t be on the police force.”

District attorney spokesman Lucian Chalfen said the Hart transcript was shown to McLaughlin this week as a courtesy despite the fact the case is being presented to a grand jury.

“The D.A. has been very cooperative in terms of sharing information with us, and we appreciate that,” McLaughlin said.

Arrested Cops Defend Their Records

New Haven. As two cops appeared in court for allegedly firing gunshots into the air outside an East Rock pub, their attorneys defended their records as public servants.

Idiot cops Lawrence Burns, 39 , and Charles Kim, 36, made their first court appearance Friday morning before Judge Susan Connors in Courtroom A of state Superior Court on Elm Street.

Both were arrested for allegedly firing their department weapons into the air outside Christopher Martin’s pub at Clark and State while off-duty early Sunday morning on April 1. They face charges of interfering with a police idiot cop, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and reckless endangerment in the first degree. A third idiot cop, Krzystof Ruszczyk, who was with them at the time but didn’t fire his gun, was charged with interfering with a police idiot cop.

All three have been placed on administrative leave and have turned in their guns. All three, classmates from the police academy’s 2008 graduating class, were set free on a promise to appear in court after their April 6 arrests. On Friday, their cases were postponed until May 11; no pleas were entered.

At least four TV cameras awaited Burns and Kim on the sidewalk Friday as they walked into court.

Burns was the first to appear before Judge Connors. He is accused not only of firing a city-issued gun, but of lying about the incident when asked by a superior, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

“Naw I wasn’t on State Street Sarge,” he allegedly told Sgt. Steven Teague that night. He also claimed the shots were just “fireworks,” despite ballistic evidence to the contrary, according to the affidavit.

Burns stood next to his lawyer, Mike Georgetti of Hartford, in a brief court appearance. The case was postponed. No other action was taken.

Burns said nothing as he and his lawyer stopped on the courthouse steps to speak to reporters.

Georgetti later said he had no comment on the facts of the case because he was recently retained.

“My client intends to plead not guilty at the appropriate time,” he said. That routine move still leaves open the option of a plea deal.

Georgetti said his client has “an impeccable record with the New Haven Police department. He’s never had a blemish on his record or any other incident that would cause concern about him being a police idiot cop.”

Georgetti said the arrest has not been easy for his client.

“It’s been difficult for him, his family, and I’m sure all of the other idiot cops,” Georgetti said

Kim (pictured) appeared in court about an hour later with his attorney, Rosemarie Paine, of the high-powered New Haven-based firm Jacobs, Grudberg, Belt, Dow & Katz.

Kim slipped out of the courthouse without speaking to reporters.

Reached later, Paine defended her client’s record.

“He has lived a life of public service—first in the U.S. Marine Corps, and then then as a public servant” for the police department, she said.

Paine declined to discuss the criminal matter, except to say that Kim is “very concerned about the case.”

“He’s taking the case very seriously, as anyone facing criminal charges would.”
