How fast was this nitwit driving? Why isn't his name used? They'd print your name if you killed someone with a car.

Man struck and killed by Fairfax County police cruiser

A man was struck and killed late Saturday by a Fairfax County police cruiser after he stepped in front of the vehicle, police said Sunday.
Jeffrey Ponce Aguilar, 26, died at an Alexandria hospital about 45 minutes after being hit, county officials said.
According to police, around 11 p.m., a Fairfax County patrolman was traveling northbound on Beulah Street near the intersection of Old Beulah Road, in the Alexandria section of the county. As the officer drove toward the intersection, Aguilar — against the green light — stepped onto the road and was hit by the cruiser, authorities said.
They said the officer immediately called for an ambulance. Aguilar was transported to Inova Franconia-Springfield HealthPlex for treatment, where he died at 11:44 p.m. The officer was not injured.
It was raining heavily at the time of the crash, and Aguilar was wearing dark clothing, said Tawny Wright, a Fairfax County police spokeswoman. A preliminary investigation determined, neither speed nor alcohol — by any party — were factors in the incident, she said. It also does not appear that Aguilar was attempting to harm himself either, Wright said.
The officer, who was put on routine administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, is not expected to be charged with any crime, Wright said. Officers in pedestrian-involved crashes are not named unless they are charged, she said.
