Former
Salem, Virginia Police Officer Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison for Soliciting
Sexual Favors in Exchange for Potential Lenient Treatment
U.S. Attorney’s Office February
09, 2015
A former police officer employed by the City
of Salem, Virginia, and assigned to a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA) task force, was sentenced today to 30 months in prison for soliciting and
receiving sexual favors from a cooperating defendant in exchange for agreeing
to recommend a favorable sentence to a federal prosecutor on the defendant’s
behalf.
Assistant Attorney General
Leslie R. Caldwell of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, Special Agent
in Charge Adam S. Lee of the FBI’s Richmond Division and Special Agent in
Charge Michael Tompkins of the Department of Justice, Office of the Inspector
General’s Washington Field Office made the announcement after the sentence was
imposed by Chief U.S. District Judge Glen E. Conrad of the Western District of
Virginia.
Kevin C. Moore, 42, of Roanoke,
Virginia, pleaded guilty on Dec. 16, 2014, to one count of bribery.
According to his plea agreement
and accompanying statement of facts, between June and September 2014, while
Moore was serving as a DEA task force officer, Moore informed a female
cooperating defendant that he was in a position to help her with her pending
federal methamphetamine trafficking case. In August 2014, for example, in a
series of text messages with the cooperating defendant, Moore made clear that
he could recommend a favorable sentence to a prosecutor on the cooperating
defendant’s behalf in exchange for sexual favors. Moore then convinced the
cooperating defendant to go for a ride in his official vehicle where she
performed a sexual act with Moore.
As part of his guilty plea,
Moore also admitted to engaging in similar conduct with two other female
cooperating witnesses in federal drug investigations dating back to 2009.
According to the statement of facts, Moore falsely informed these witnesses
that he had convinced federal prosecutors not to charge them with federal
criminal offenses that would carry significant prison sentences. Moore then
solicited and received sexual favors from the witnesses in exchange for his
purported assistance.
Moore was arrested on Oct. 10,
2014, without incident, and was suspended from the police department and DEA
task force the same day. Moore was terminated from his employment with the City
of Salem Police Department after pleading guilty in this case.
This case was investigated by
the FBI and the Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General, and was
prosecuted by Trial Attorneys Charles R. Walsh and Robert J. Heberle of the
Criminal Division’s Public Integrity Section.
Rapist
Cop Admits He Forced Male Immigrants To Do Gay Things With Him
A former Florida deputy has
admitted in court to intimidating undocumented male immigrants into performing
gay sex acts with him or risk being deported.
34-year-old Jonathan Bleiweiss,
who is a well-known figure in Fort Lauderdale’s gay community, pleaded guilty
to 14 counts of armed false imprisonment, 15 counts of battery, and four counts
of stalking.
Approximately 20 illegal male
immigrants told investigators that Bleiweiss preyed on them, molesting them
during pat downs and then asking for their phone numbers, which many of the
victims claim they felt powerless to refuse.
The incidents happened between
August 2008 and July 2009, when Bleiweiss was finally removed from the police
force for his alleged behavior.
He originally faced a total of
more than 70 charges, many accusing him of sexual battery, which could have
landed him several decades in prison, but prosecutors had to drop several of
the charges. The problem, they say, is that many of Bleiweiss’ victims didn’t
want to testify.
“I can understand that,” said
prosecutor Neva Smith. “They are tired. They have been held hostage by this
case for years. They have been tormented and teased in their community. They
don’t want their faces on camera.”
Others, she added, “have since
been deported.”
Yesterday, Broward Circuit
Judge Michael Robinson sentenced Bleiweiss to five years in prison, plus ten
years probation, as well ordered the ex-deputy to undergo a psycho-sexual
evaluation. He will not, however, be required to register as a sex offender.
Many people feel the sentence
is far too lenient.
“He’ll get out,” said attorney
Alvin Entin. “He’ll be able to live the rest of his life. And he’ll do so
without the stain of being a sexual predator.”
Nefarious
Cop Busted For Exposing His Penis To Unsuspecting Male Motorists
Bad cop alert.
37-year-old New Jersey police
officer Jason Miller (pictured) was arrested and charged with official
misconduct and public lewdness earlier this week after it was discovered he had
a naughty habit of waving his wiener at male motorists aged 18 to 26, the
Smoking Gun reports.
The dash cam from Miller’s
police cruiser allegedly captures the married father of two undoing his
trousers and exposing himself at least five times over a seven-month period
earlier this year.
The incidents all happened
during late-night and early-morning traffic stops. In many of the surveillance
videos, the sound of Miller unzipping his pants can be heard, prosecutors say.
In one video in particular, his penis is clearly visible.
“His junk was hanging out!” one
victim reportedly told police during the investigation.
Drivers allege Miller, who has
been a police officer since 2001, would approach their vehicles then ask them
if they had “noticed his zipper was down.”
One driver claims Miller
followed him after the initial traffic stop to ask if the passenger in his car
was his boyfriend. Another time, Miller allegedly allowed a man who admitted to
being drunk go without so much as issuing a citation, presumably because he had
just exposed himself to the 26-year-old.
A probable cause affidavit
alleges that Miller exposed his wiener during “numerous” late-night traffic
stops to “satisfy his prurient interests.” He is currently free on $35,000
bail, but he has been suspended from his job indefinitely without pay.
City
officer charged with woman's assault in Pasadena
Jeff Hagar
On a quiet street filled with
traditional houses, families and children, you would think having a neighbor
that works as a police officer would be a blessing, but at least one of 42-year
old Wayne Adams' neighbors said it's been a curse.
Matthew Vlcej said Adams has faced allegations
of domestic violence involving a woman here before.
"My wife went over there and talked to
her and while she was there, Wayne returned still in a rage, got all up in my
wife's face and just playing the fool," Vlcej said. "So I've never
trusted him since then... never had anything to do with him.
This week, the same alleged victim called Anne
Arundel County Police and, according to court records, she told officers Adams had made unwanted sexual advances
towards her before slapping her in the ear and choking her.
"Now, here again, I was
home Monday and I happened to look out and saw a bunch of police cars and saw
him getting taken away in cuffs and found out that, once again, he's had a problem with domestic violence,"
said Vlcej.
Vlcej said Adams has vented his anger at
others in the neighborhood before including a 13-year old boy he spotted riding
down the street on a dirt bike.
In that instance, he allegedly threw the boy
to the ground face-down and placed him in a wrist lock before calling police.
"I will still give him a wide berth. I have nothing to do with him. I don't allow my children to play with his
children, and I think that's pretty much the consensus in the neighborhood is
nobody wants anything to do with that man," said Vlcej.
Adams now faces a second-degree assault charge
and fourth-degree sex offense and has already posted bond to earn his release.
His supervisors from Baltimore have already
been to the house to confiscate his weapons.
"I'm glad he's not carrying a firearm
right now because I think he is unstable,” said Vlcej, “I think he's proven
time and again in this neighborhood that he can't control himself."
In light of the charges, Baltimore City police
say Adams has been suspended with pay.
They say he works with the Operational
Intelligence Section, which handles duties connected with homeland security.
Cop
accused of rape pleads not guilty

WAUSAU – A former Rothschild
police officer accused of sexually assaulting a sleeping woman pleaded not
guilty Thursday in Marathon County Circuit Court.
Corey Yolitz, 22, of Mosinee is
charged with second-degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim and
burglary, according to court records.
Yolitz was an officer with the
Rothschild Police Department at the time of the alleged assault. Rothschild
Police Chief Jeremy Hunt told Daily Herald Media that after the Everest Metro
Police Department finished its investigation into the alleged assault, Yolitz
was given a choice of resigning or being fired. He resigned.
Yolitz is accused of sexually
assaulting the woman in her bed after a night out drinking with friends in
early October. The woman told police she ran into Yolitz when she went to a
local bar to watch the Green Bay Packers game. After the game, the woman
continued drinking until bar-closing time at 2 a.m., according to court
documents.
She said that Yolitz dropped
her off at her Schofield home, where she went to bed.
She awoke in her dark bedroom
to find someone having sex with her and initially thought the man was her
boyfriend, Everest Metro Police officer Tom Jourdan testified.
At some point, she realized it
wasn't her boyfriend and confronted the man, who ran from the home, setting off
outside motion lights. The woman was then able to identify Yolitz and the car
he was driving, according to court records.
Yolitz initially told
investigators he "could not recall" if he had had sexual contact with
the woman, according to the records.
At Thursday's hearing, special
prosecutor Melissa Inlow called two members of the Everest Metro Police
Department who investigated the case.
Detective Sgt. Dan Goff
testified that Yolitz said during an interview after the assault that Yolitz
did not have permission to go into the woman's home and to Goff's knowledge,
the victim had not invited Yolitz over to her home.
Defense attorney Richard Lawson
said surveillance video showed the victim and Yolitz kissing earlier in the night
at a local strip club.
"He also had reason to
believe she would consent to having sex with him or others that morning or
early night, correct?" Lawson asked Goff, who said he could not speculate
on Yolitz's "internal reasoning."
His next court date was not set
at Thursday's hearing.
