This fall, the National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement (NACOLE) and the International Law Enforcement Auditors Association (ILEAA) will host a two-day training event in Austin, Texas, that will address effective means of creating and maintaining an environment in which law enforcement agencies are both accountable and transparent. This training is open to all those who conduct investigations or performance audits in the private or public sector. It will also be of great benefit to those wishing to create or expand their current investigation or auditing capabilities. National and international experts on civilian oversight, law enforcement, and auditing will facilitate courses and workshops on:
- Performance Auditing
- Investigating the Use of Force by Police
- Principles of Excellent Investigations
- Risk Management Principles and Practices
- Leadership, Ethics, and Accountability
- Conducting Systemic Investigations
- Developing an Audit Work Plan
- Transparency and Accountability in Federal Immigration Enforcement
- On-site testing for the Certified Law Enforcement Auditor Designation
- 14 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits available for the training
