DENVER — Federal prosecutors say a former
Glendale police officer used law-enforcement computers to help an alleged
cocaine dealer.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Friday 39-year-old Scott T. Black of
Firestone was indicted on charges including unauthorized use of a computer and
lying to FBI agents. He surrendered to the FBI Thursday.
Prosecutors allege he used crime computers to check license plates for a
drug operation. Prosecutors say Black was an officer at the time.
No phone listing could be found for Black. He hasn’t entered a plea.
He’s also charged with conspiracy to gain unauthorized access to a computer
database and using a communications facility to help drug trafficking.
If convicted of all counts, he could face up to 29 years in prison.
